Position Overview
The Fluid & Chemical Engineer provides the fluid‑dynamic, chemical and thermal‑hydraulic expertise required to design, build and validate HSA’s world‑leading hydrogen technology prototypes. This role delivers the physical property datasets, experimental evidence and engineering parameters that guide prototype design, safety envelopes and validation readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Characterise flow regimes, circulation patterns and multiphase behaviour
- Analyse gas evolution, bubble formation, disengagement and coalescence
- Evaluate electrolyte composition, stability, degradation and impurity pathways
- Assess material compatibility under operating conditions
- Model heat generation, transfer and cooling requirements
- Design and execute structured experiments with full traceability
- Produce validated datasets for engineering, modelling and test functions
- Support prototype design reviews with fluid‑chemical insights
- Document findings in version‑controlled technical artefacts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics or related field
- 5–10+ years’ experience in fluid dynamics, chemical engineering or electrochemical systems
- Proficiency with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL or similar)
- Strong documentation, experimental design and data‑integrity discipline
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering and scientific teams.
